Its Saturday and its Mr Micklefield's Birthday

Morning well spent with a full english breakfast :)

So yesterday the crit went well, I was asked to maybe consider using "the arguments people have over the washing up" "piles and piles of dirty plates" "some marygold gloves" basically to show the alternatives that would of happened if Josephine hadn't invented the dish washer but my original idea may work better we shall soon see. I got on to attempting the marygold poster. ill upload it in a bit blogger is poorly!

I messed up! (surprise surprise)

So previously I uploaded my posters, In poster 1 the idea was to use the steam from a clean load and write in it "thank you" but me being stupid and tired totally forgot, sooo I suppose we will see in the critique who is paying attention and I will have to make amends to this photograph tonight. wish me luck :)

Some progression.. not quite what I had in mind but hey hoe!

First poster of two so far, hoping to make a third.

Second poster of two so far ready to be critiqued tomorrow.

I'm quite happy with the progress on both these out comes so far, but I guarantee they with both get ripped to pieces in the critique eeeeek..

A lot of help gained "thanks" Sally!

One of my original idea's (the one I am going to proceed on with) thanks to talking things over with Sally I am now less confused and have realised that the message that this photograph portrays is not quite what I had in mind. I have now come up with a few ideas to attempt tonight, my favorite being to write "Thank You"on the steamed up glasses as soon as the dishwasher finishes its load ;P

I shall update you later on how this goes fingers crossed.

After a little Lateral thinking...

I have now got myself in a sticky situation, there are two people I would quite like to "Thank" one of which is Josephine Cochron (the inventor of the dishwasher) as this invention has been extremely useful to me and saved me alot of time and effort, but on the other hand The two co-founder's (Jimmy Wales and Larry Sanger) of Wikipedia have also done me proud over the past few years helping me understand the meanings of words such as "antidisestablishmentarianism" which means what? you may ask well it is a political position that originated in nineteenth-century Britain, in opposition to proposals to remove the Church of England's status as the state church of Ireland and Wales.

Right Im off for my tutorial hopefully Sally can help me with which idea is the best until this evening goodbye x

first day being a 2nd year

So after a very much enjoyable summer, were all back to UNI and surprisingly it actually feels pretty good. We have been given our New brief which consists of four smallish projects: "Thank You" "Business Identity" "New from old" and "Communicating Ideas" we will be working on these up until November time. I have been researching and brainstorming some ideas for the first project "Thank You" and have finally came up with a simple yet effective solution I think and hope will answer the brief well. Considering how today our roof nearly caved in on us I thought I would leave it until tomorrow to get started on the practical side of things so until tomorrow Goodbye :)

Summer time and the weather is fine...

What a great summer I had.... Started it off by a trip to see the 2nd years New Blood show for young designers up in Earls Court, Kensington which was great and it really inspired me to work a lot harder this year. We also found a nice little Art shop which sells things as cheap as chips so that was a bonus.

I worked a little, managed to get a little more work experience which was good due to the fact I couldn't get any last term and ended up having to do a live brief instead (which I must say turned out pretty dam spiffing considering) most thanks goes to Master Benjamin Hutley himself on that one, I also managed to get some work from the NHS, mainly photography but also they asked me to design them a logo for "The Director Of Nursing Awards" in Basingstoke hospital which will be held in January of next year! Odds and sods such as posters for mates who work in bars, experience is experience at the end of the day and it kept me in focus as I didn't have a full time job, so yes money was an issue :(
but....
I did go on a lovely free trip to Malta with the family, lovely place no sand but the fat rocks i liked lots, and it was good to spend abit of time with them as I havn't been away with them in donkeys years. Bestival was also another cheeky highlight of my summer...  discovered The Correspondents who are a swing-hop duo who where made famous by remixing "The Jungle Book" was awesome!
